I hate my..

Another New Year has arrived, and that beginning often comes with guilt. Feelings of guilt begin to creep in about not changing the things we previously decided we wanted to change, one example is our bodies.

A new January can make us feel bad about the promises we did not keep for ourselves from the year before. Broken resolutions. Mislaid plans, and of course forgotten diets.

As women we are particularly critical of ourselves. When we start a sentence with ‘I hate my..’ , it leads us down a self critical path.

Why are we so hard on ourselves?

Why are we not able to see the beauty that others see?

We really need to give ourselves a break and some much deserved credit. We need to be stronger.

Confidence plays into every aspect of our lives. Other people will give you a confidence boost now and then but what it really comes down to is how we feel about ourselves. It’s all about self acceptance and owning the body you have. It’s about owning your own beauty, and finding things to love about yourself.

We are all beautiful, and we need to work at feeling that beauty.

Let’s start the New Year off by treating ourselves with more kindness and being careful about how we talk to ourselves.

Confidence starts with ourselves.

What do you like about yourself?
